The real achiever of the Hyderabad media. Can you guess who is it ? A T Jayanti, the Editor of Deccan Chronicle. DC was a moffusil paper when the lady was brought in from Bombay, a decade ago. With the dint of sheer hard work, Jayanti has brought the paper to its current level. DC is miles ahead of its rivals and most of the credit should go to Jayanti. She has been ably provided a platform by the owners of DC, without which the lady could not have taken the paper to dizzy heights.
Lately Jayanti has had some problems of communications with her colleagues. Now she has started sorting them out and has become accessible. Three cheers to Jayanti. May you continue the good work.
In Times Of India, Thomas Sebastian has effortlessly stepped into the shoes of Ram Karan, dispelling apprehensions that the paper would go to the dogs following the exit of the latter. Sebastian has not allowed the absence of Ram Karan to be felt in the newsroom and has upheld the production values of the paper. A low profile performer, Sebastian has worked in many papers and centres before coming to Hyderabad. Last job was in Bangalore at Deccan Herald, when Kingshuk Mukherjee picked him up and gave him a position. Sebastian , we want to watch you grow.

Can anybody throw light on what Ram Karan is doing these days ?
This is a great idea. Congratulations to the team behind this blog. We all, as journalists, slog day in and day out to get a story, explain the reasons for missing a story and many more issues that of course part of the profession. The managements as usual do not appreciate the job. Though we file several exclusively they pull us up by showing one-in-a-hundred story that we miss. The professionals like this should be able to offer the emotional support to all the journalists. If possible try and appreciate a story or please keep quiet. Do not create more problems. Good luck.
Jayanti of DC is trying to change. The efforts have not been entirely successful.
The site is pathetic. Looks like its has been set up as a joint venture of AT Jayanthi and Kingshuk Nag.
Patting yourselves on the back will not do. Look at yourselves in the mirror.
I agree that REAL AP Mediablog could do with more teeth to it, right now it sounds too goody-goody to be real!
But puhlease, as far as blogging goes, APMedia is pure bullshit! At least when it gets maliciously personal. Get your facts right, wimpies!(APMEdia bloggers, ie). Kingshuk Nag, for example, was not shunted out of Gujarat, thanks to Modi, Pleasse! Even Modi is faster on his feet than the old moron who's posted that libellious blog! Modi wouldnt wait for a good three years after the riots to move Nag out, after all the damamge done. Not after the Times had started reporting the good measures Modi had taken (in the farm subsidies sector, for eg).
Also, he neednt measure up to Rajdeep Sardesai, people (real journos ie) would know of his own standing in the print media industry.ALso, dont get so despo that you shd write abt Kondapalli toys being gifted to the editor, guys! I mean are Indian journalists so petty and bhookad that they start grudging some memontoes to be gracing the editor's cabin? Focus on the real issues, not character assasination, aur woh bhi false, all caps!
