Ramoji Rao may not be loved by everybody. People might have reservations about the way he built up his business. Yet nobody can deny that he is a formidable force in Andhra Pradesh. Today the government of the day is hounding him, because his publications have taken upon themselves to oppose and expose them. The government is so intolerant that they cannot bear anybody exposing them thoroughly. The government feels that he is a henchman for the opposition parties. Members of the fourth estate might have their own views, but they should understand that the government does not tolerate any dissent from any section of the press. God forbid if the government is able to cower down Ramoji Rao. Once that happens, they will train their guns at other sections of the press. Nobody will be left alone, till all dissent is snuffed out. Publications who are taking a stand supporting the government should remember this. In their own interest. Otherwise one day they will have to pay the price. What can happen to others can also happen to you.

Ram and H K Dua have rightly realised this. Some fools in the AP Media world do not not seem to aware that what is happening to Ramoji is bound to happen to them. The fourth estate should unite, like politicians gang up for their own interest. Otherwise freedom of the press will be in peril
Every journalist should take up the cudgel on behalf of Rama Rao. This is an issue of press freedom.

Nobody is wishing for the collapse of Ramoji Rao. But, ethics should supercede all individual priorities. Let people running media houses realise that owning newspapers does not make them superior or inferior to anyone. They too can enjoy the fundamental rights like every other citizen of this country, without having a feeling that they are above the law.
Leave alone individuals, think about the bureaucrats who have grown to monstrous levels. And they seem unstoppable.
Why is it that the ACB has never touched an IAS, IPS and an IRS officer for amassing huge property illegally?
Why is it that ACB has never booked engineers, sub-registrars and section officers in the state secretariat?
Why is it that Income-tax and commercial tax officials look the other way, when media houses are concerned?
Why is it that an I-T search has never been conducted on an ex-MLA, ex-MP or a current MLA or MP........., for that matter a minister?
If one Ramoji is sent to jail, others would fall in line. If one IPS officer is booked for having ill-gotten wealth, others would think twice.
If one paper like Eenadu is told to be more objective and responsible, then others will follow suit.
Tired of updating it? Pl keep this fresh or you will be lost in the race and the objective of encouraging healthy journalism will go to hell. Is it difficult for you to upload atleast one post per day?
